Introduction
Igive thanks and praise to God for the privilege to treatan important topic as Water Baptism, which as time goes
by has lost its essential meaning. Given the fact that the
Bible speaks of more than one Baptism, the precision
- Water Baptism, is very important. We note that
Hebrews 6:2talks of the doctrine of Baptisms. Other
passages such as Matthew 3:11mention the Baptism
of the Holy Spirit and of fire. In this study, we will limit
ourselves to Water Baptism.
WHAT IT IS: Water Baptism, also called in the Bible
Baptism of Repentance, as in Acts 13:24, Acts 19:4,
Mark 1:4, Luke 3:3, or John’s Baptism, as in Matthew
21:25, Mark 11:30, Luke 7:29, Luke 20:4, Acts 1:22
and Acts 19:3, is a commitment to live the life of Jesus
Christ.
How is it to be done?
We do not really need to look into the dictionary or tosearch out the origin of words in order to understand
the meaning of Water Baptism, and how it must be
done. The Lord spared us needless search by allowing
His Word to speak for itself; we only need to study the
Bible thoroughly, and we will understand very well
all we need to understand. The Bible contains its own
definition and explanation. Therefore, we sum up by
saying that the best biblical dictionary is the Bible itself.
In Matthew 3:6 we read: “And they were baptized by
him inthe Jordan, confessing their sins. Matthew 3:16
says: “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up
immediately from water...”
Acts 8:38-39 says: “So he commanded the chariot to
stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down
into the water, and he baptized him. Now when they
came up out of the water,…”Colossians 2:12 “buried
with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with
Him through faith in the working of God, who raised
Him from the dead.”Romans 6:3-4 “Or do you not
know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ
Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were
buriedwith Him through baptism into death,…”
And even if we were to search the origin of the word
Baptism, we would see that the dictionary is right. The
“Petit Larousse” dictionary tells us that “baptism” or
“to baptize” comes from the Greek word “Baptizein”,
which means immersion. This confirms what we have
just seen in the Bible: Therefore, Water Baptism must
only be done by immersion.
Where should it be done?
Now that we know how Water Baptism is done, we caneasily answer the question “where?” Water Baptism
must be done wherever there is enough water for
immersion. It may be a stream, a river for those who
are privileged enough to live near one, or a swimming
pool for those who have one, or still a big bath basin for
those who have only that. Do not get distracted by these
agents of satan who say that water baptism must only be
done in what they call “running water”.
I met some satanic sects that make of what they call
“running water”, the only condition to validate a
baptism. And for this reason, in some cities and in some
countries, these demons keep people for months without
baptism, in search of their “running water”. In Europe
and in countries that have winter, they gather all the
candidates for baptism to wait for summer. And even in
summer, they still have to find their so-called “running
water”. When these agents of satan do these silly things,
you have the impression that they are ignorant. There are
not; they know very well what they want. It is a trap thaT
they set to prevent people from being saved. Be careful
never to fall againinto their traps. What is necessary
for water baptism is enough water for immersion.
When must it be done?
Once we understand the meaning of baptism, the
question “when?” becomes unnecessary. But since the
world with its theology has abandoned God, we are
compelled to explain what is yet so simple to understand.
When must one get baptized? Jesus in Mark 16:16 tells
us that “He who believes and is baptized will be saved…”
This means that one cannot claim to be saved unless he
believes and is baptized. Baptism must therefore be
done immediatelywhen we accept Jesus Christ. John
1:12 reminds us that we are all God’s creatures, but not
all God’s Children, and that every one can choose to
become a child of God by receiving Jesus Christ, and
by believing in His Name. John 3:3 says: “…unless one
is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” And
Jesus makes it clear in John 3:5 that one must be born of
water and the Spirit in order to enter the kingdom of God.
And if one must be born of water and the Spirit in order
to enter the kingdom of God, this must therefore be the
first thing to do.
Matthew 3:6 says that people came, confessing their
sins, they were baptized in the Jordan; without any delay,
without any school of baptism, without any training on
baptism.
Acts 2: 37-41 “Now when they heard this, they were cut
to heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the Apostles,
“Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said
to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and
you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit…Then those
who gladly received his word were baptized; and that
day about three thousand souls were added to them.”
The Word of God states clearly “that day”and not a day
later, nor three months after a school of baptism, nor six
months after a training of any kind.
Acts 8:12 “But when they believed Philip as he preached
the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name
of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.”
Acts 8: 26-39 “…Then Philip opened his mouth, and
beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. Now
as they went down the road, they came to some water.
And the Eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders
me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, “If you
believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered
and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both
Philip and the Eunuch went down into the water, and
he baptized him. Now when they came up out of the
water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that
the Eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way
rejoicing.”
Philip should have asked the Eunuch of Ethiopia to
go and come back two weeks later as some ignorant
preachers do today. He should have been afraid of that
great minister under Candace as some corrupt preachers
do today. He could have found some false excuses as
we know today, by bringing up for example the problem
of spare clothes. He could have also imposed some
weeks of training on baptism as we see foolish people
do today. But the Bible tells us that Philip belonged to
God, therefore he could only put the Word of God into
practice, without creating other worldly methods, and
without going through theological doctrines, which are
nothing but satanic theories.
Acts 9:17-18: “And Ananias went his way and entered
the house; and laying his hands on him he said,
“Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you
on the road as you came, has sent me that you may
receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Immediatelythere fell from his eyes something like
scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose
and was baptized.”
If Ananias was the kind of apostle, or evangelist, or
pastor of this generation, he would have asked Saul to
go through a school of baptism and be watched, for at
least six months, in order to see if his conversion was
real. He would have said that for someone like Saul who
had contributed to the killing of Christians, it was risky
to baptize him without making sure that he was truly
converted.
Acts 10:44-48 “…Then Peter answered, “Can anyone
forbid water, that these should not be baptized who
have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the
Lord…”
Acts 16: 14-15 “Now a certain woman named Lydia
heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of
Thyatira, who worshipped God. The Lord opened her
heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And when she
and her household were baptized…”
Acts 16: 25-33“But at midnight Paul and Silas were
praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners
were listening to them … Then they spoke the word of
the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And
he took them the same hour of the night and washed
their stripes. And immediatelyhe and all his family
were baptized.”
Today’sblind preachers spend their time teaching
human doctrines they have learnt from the rots they call
bible schools.
Acts 18:8 “Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue,
believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of
the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.”
I hereby challenge all those doctors, all those
preachers of the 21st century, all those great teachers
of bible schools and
schools of theology and all so called apostles, who
instead of teaching the word of God as it is written,
teach satanic theories, to give me from the Bible just
one example of someone who
gave his life to Jesus, and whose baptism the disciples
decided to postpone. Some civil servants of the church
who are called by mistake pastors, say that they prefer
to teach people first before baptizing them, fearing that
once they are baptized they can go back to sin. What a
stupid idea!
I charge those fools who dare to teach that Water
Baptism is optional, to turn away from their foolishness
and to repent before it’s too late. Water baptism is not
an option. Water baptism is Repentance. None of those
who reject water baptism will escape hell, and none of
those who intentionally teach that people do not need to
be baptized will escape hell.
You doctors and teachers, and all the “reverend pastors”,
you “great evangelists”, if you are unable to contradict
this teaching from the Bible, turn away from your
witchcraft, and repent. Leave useless titles behind, sit
down and learn.
And you great teachers of bible schools, and bible
institutes, if you are unable to prove from the Bible
that this teaching is wrong, you are only left with
one solution: close down immediately those temples
of greed and those den of thieves that you call bible
institutes, and stop leading Children of God astray, if
not you will pay very dearly in the next few days.
Where then do the doctrine of baptism training and
school of baptism come from? They are demonic
teachings, well conceived by satan to deceive and
mislead the people of God. This shows us how far the
Word of God is despised and abandoned in these last
days. And when we know that God says in 2John 9
that “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in
the doctrine of Christ does not have God…” you
understand how far seduction has invaded the religious
milieu. For many of those who turn away from God to
teach and practice these satanic theories claim to serve
God. While we talk about the return of Jesus, they also
speak as if it were a good thing for them, ignoring that
that day will be disastrous for them.
At what age shall one get baptised?
The experts in arguments always find reasons to arguewith the Word of God, blinding themselves with false
ideas. The age of baptism has now become another major
problem among those who lack topics of distraction.
As we mentioned above, the Word of God teaches us
clearly that the baptism of repentance is a commitment,
the one to walk with Jesus. And for this reason, a child
must get to an age where he can be able to distinguish
and understand what he does, and especially understand
who Jesus Christ is. Therefore, we cannot attempt
to define or even to set an age for Baptism. This then
depends on individuals. There are children who even
from the age of 6 are quite enlightened and bright,
whereas even at 14 years of age, some still do not know
how to differentiate their left from their right.
For you who believe that young people less than 10
years of age cannot be baptized, under the pretext that
they are children, let me remind you that the youngest
mother became pregnant at 9 years old. If you only
consider them as children as far as the Word of God
is concerned, and not before the abominations of this
generation, you are mistaken.
After water baptism, what next?
Matthew 28:19-20 says: “Go therefore and makedisciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you…”Jesus asked to make disciples, and
teach them. But some satan’s agents, whose duty is to
oppose Jesus, as satan their master does, rather say that
people need to be taught before they are made disciples.
My question is: “between Jesus and satan’s agents
who knows better?” If you believe that Jesus knows
better what He says, put His Word into practice. And if
you believe that satan’s agents know better than Jesus
Christ, keep on following them. The day is coming
when you will understand.
Acts 2:42 says: “And they continued steadfastly in the
Apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of
bread, and in prayers.”Jesus Christ’s Apostles are those
who put the Word of Jesus Christ into practice. They
made about 3000 disciples in one day, by baptizing them
in water, after that they devoted themselves to teaching
them to fear God and put His Word into practice.
Satan’s apostles who are leading churches today, do
the will of their master every day by disobeying Jesus
Christ. They keep in churches people who are not
baptized, under the pretext that they are teaching them.
And one sees none of the good fruits of the teaching
they give, in the lives of those who listen to them. To
conclude, let’s remember that after Water Baptism one
must devote oneself to the teaching, and to the reading
and the daily meditation on the Bible.
Conclusion
In order to make this study as complete as possible,
we found it useful not to bring it to its end, without
mentioning some of the aspects of this teaching
that often confuse those whose heart is prepared for
confusion.
In 1Corinthians 1: 17, Paul says: “For Christ did not
send me to baptize, …”Some of those whose heart is
disposed to divert the Word of God, can hastily conclude,
and this is what most of them generally do, that Water
Baptism is not so important. I bless the Lord for building
His Word in such a wonderful way that all those who
want to interpret it their own way are always confused.
That is why none of those who distort the Word of God
will have any excuse before Him. Those who cling to
the declaration of Paul in 1Corinthians 1:17 and make
sport of Water Baptism, can only be confounded by the
reaction of the same Paul in Acts 19:1-5: While Apollos
was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior
and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples
and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when
you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even
heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then
what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they
replied. Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of
repentance. He told the people to believe in the one
coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this,
they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
As you can see, Paul’s first reaction when he meets the
disciples is to ask them if they are baptized with the
Holy Spirit. He does not ask them if they are baptized
in water, because he knows that to bear the name
of disciple, one must already be baptized in water.
Therefore, there cannot be a disciple not baptized in
water. Flee from seduction!
If in our introduction we talked of what Water Baptism
is, it is important in our conclusion to point out WHAT
IT IS NOT. Water Baptism is not salvation, this means
that Water Baptism in itself cannot save. It is rather
a commitment to be saved, or the pledge of a good
conscience toward God as we read in the following
passage: and this water symbolizes baptism that now
saves you also, not the removal of dirt from the body
but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It
saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has
gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand with angels,
authorities and powers in submission to him.1Peter
3:21-22
Water baptism is therefore a commitment. And like any
commitment, it can be broken. Meditate 1Corinthians
10:1-12. Just as two peoplewho are marriedare called
married as long as they keep their wedding pledge,
and suddenly take the name of divorcees once that
relationship is broken, in the same way, if a disciple gives
up his faith in Jesus Christ, he ceases to be a disciple. Let
those who console themselves by the fact that they are
baptized with water by immersion, understand that they
must put the Word of God into practice. I would feel
guilty if I do not tell you that there are people in hell at
present, people who, on earth, were baptized in water.
Some skeptics will ask me if I’ve been to hell to see
them; if you are among those who prefer to see before
they believe, keep on slandering the Gospel of Jesus
Christ and crucifying the Son of God all over again.
When you get to hell, you’ll meet your companions who
like you,were baptized in water.
And for you who have chosen Paradise, let me tell
you before you get there, that we will meet people in
Paradise who had not been baptized with water. Do
not be surprised by it, because God is Just. There are
people who for one reason or the other do not have the
opportunity to get baptized. Let’s take the example of
this brother, a former thief, who accepted Jesus on the
cross. The Lord will not send him to hell because he
was not baptized. He had not refused to be baptized; he
simply had not had the opportunity. Let’s consider the
case of those who receive the Lord on their hospital beds
and who die some time later. The Lord will not reject
them. Those people did not refuse to be baptized, they
simply did not have the opportunity to do so.
On the other hand, those who have the opportunity to
get baptized and who choose not to do so, blinding
themselves with false reasoning, will not see God. I
invite you to meditate on this passage of Luke 7: 29-30:
All the people, even the tax collectors, when they
heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way
was right, because they had been baptized by John.
But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected
God’s purpose for themselves, because they had
not been baptized by John. All those who reject the
water baptism, reject salvation. They simply reject
God’s purpose for themselves. Among these are those
whosay that they have already been baptized and
even confirmed, and those who say that they will
still take some time to think. Let’s remind those who
claim to be baptized and confirmed that the doctrine of
confirmation is from the demons who lead the biggest
sect of the antichrist. Let’s also remind those who take
time to think, that they are only thinking to see whether
they will accept Jesus. Let them not deceive themselves
by believing that they have already given their lives to
Jesus Christ.
I will end this study with a word of surprise, surprise to
realize that even among born again Christians, and even
teachers of the Word of God, people who are supposed
to be enlightened, one still finds stupid arguments about
what to say during Water Baptism. For some, Water
Baptism must only be done in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19-20),
for others, it must be done in the name of the Lord
Jesus(Acts 19:5). For others still, it must only be done
in the name of the Lord (Acts 10:48) and yet others
insist that, it must be in the name of Jesus Christ(Acts
2:38). What foolishness! Where is the difference? As
the Lord said in Matthew 22:29 “You are mistaken, not
knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.”
